Validation of European patents in Austria – London Agreement – Translation of the specification of European patents

Austria has not yet joined the London Agreement on the application of Article 65 EPC. Hence, for a European patent to take effect in Austria, it is still required to file a German translation of the entire specification, if the specification is not published in German.

The German translation has to be filed until three months at the latest after the publication of the mention of grant by the Austrian Patent Office. This term cannot be extended.

The translation from English or French into German is prepared by our team of experienced translators who all hold a university degree in translation. The technical correctness of every text is verified by one of our patent experts.
